Book/Movie Review: The Case For Christ

I once heard a statistic that of everyone who has put their faith in Christ, about 70% did so based on an emotional response, the other 30% through logic and reason. I would be in that 30%. As such, it should be no surprise that one of my favorite areas of Christian study is that of apologetics, or examining and discussing the facts and evidence pertaining to what is written in scripture. Over the years I have read several excellent apologetic authors, including Josh McDowell, Norman Geisler, and R.C. Sproul. My favorite author, by far, however, is Lee Strobel and his Case For... series of books.

Extra Life Extra Life Gameday 2017 is quickly approaching. If you are unfamiliar with Extra Life, they are an organization that connects gamers with sick and injured kids by raising money for the Children's Miracle Network. One of the ways they do this is by holding a Gameday when people raise sponsorship and play video and board games for twenty-four hours. All the money raised goes to the various hospitals in the Children's Miracle Network. This year's Gameday will be November 4th, just a little over a week from today. This Hallmark Movie Is Too Ridiculous . . . IMO ;-)

There is that saying that goes, “You don’t really know someone until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.” A couple of weekends ago I think I walked a mile in my son’s shoes, at least when it comes to watching movies. He, like most people, enjoys movies. However, every now and then he gets a little perturbed when the facts of a movie don’t quite line up with reality. I’m not talking about fanciful stuff, like Indiana Jones surviving a leap from a plane with the assistance of an inflatable raft; Star Wars dogfights complete with sound, explosions and the appearance of gravity in the vacuum of space; or superheroes.… Read more...

Quick Shots for 10/20/2017

Well, I did it. This week I finally purchased a Nintendo Switch. Right now, however, all it does is just sit there, pretty much as shown in the picture below. That is because I have yet to purchase any games for it. That should be remedied soon as I am planning on purchasing (perhaps by the time you are reading this) Stardew Valley (for myself) and Snipperclips (for family multi-player). Additionally, on my radar (probably as Christmas list options) are Mario + Rabbids and Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Besides these games, what would you suggest?
