Finding God On a Missouri Billboard

Finding God On a Missouri Billboard

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is by no means a Christian film. In fact, if God or Jesus are mentioned at all, it is probably in the form of an exclamation or curse. Still, a lot of scriptural truth can be gleaned from this Oscar-winning film, especially in the evolving relationships between four characters: Mildred Hayes, Chief Bill Willoughby, Officer Jason Dixon, and Red Welby.

Now, this is the part of the article where I warn you that I will be discussing the film’s plot in depth, which is another way of saying there will be spoilers. If you plan on watching this film and desire to go into

How Jesus Christ Superstar Kept Heaven On My Mind

Half Air faith article

Since 2013 NBC has been airing live musical events starting with The Sound of Music. I have enjoyed a show here and there but certainly, haven’t caught them all. This past Easter, however, the network aired a presentation I was particularly interested in watching: Jesus Christ Superstar.

Early Memories

Jesus Christ Superstar has always been a part of my life, as early as age three or four. In fact, to the best of my knowledge, the soundtrack for the musical is one of the first albums I ever heard. My Obsessions And The Fall

Half Air faith articleI can become obsessed.

I don’t mean like with a movie franchise, celebrity, hobby, or things like that. I mean with tasks. Sometimes, if there is something that needs to be done, needs to be fixed, or that I just can’t figure out, I am like a dog with a bone and can’t let it go until it’s completed to my satisfaction. If I do have to walk away for some reason, my mind is constantly on the problem and I have trouble shaking it until I either get back to the task or enough time has passed for me to push it from my mind, typically several hours to a day. This is especially true if it’s something computer or electronics… Read more...

The Christmas Story

The Christmas Story

Half Air faith articleToday’s promised Christmas story is, of course, THE Christmas story, given to us by God and recorded in Luke’s gospel.

About that time Caesar Augustus ordered a census to be taken throughout the Empire. This was the first census when Quirinius was governor of Syria. Everyone had to travel to his own ancestral hometown to be accounted for. So Joseph went from the Galilean town of Nazareth up to Bethlehem in Judah, David’s town, for the census. As a descendant of David, he had to go there. He went with Mary, his fiancée, who was pregnant.

While they were there, the time came for her to give birth. She gave… Read more...
