If you've been reading Half Air it will no surprise to hear that my family weathered hurricane Irma fairly well. We had no major damage and yard cleanup took about an hour. The greatest inconvenience was the loss of power for several days. The last night we were without power we stayed with friends who got power back earlier that day. The next several days we opened our house up to one of Deb's co-workers who still didn't have lights or electricity. There are several times throughout the year when family gathers together. It's a time to catch up on stories, share a meal, and maybe play a game. Usually, this is at Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter and other such times of the year. For us in Florida, it's a hurricane.
By the time you are reading this, Hurricane Irma will probably have passed through Central Florida, but as I am writing this it is Saturday afternoon and we have yet to see any effects from the storm.
